A Message for our loyal and valued customers

I want to start by giving a great big thank you to all of our loyal customers and pool players who have graced the tables of Dot's Cue Club and kept it open for over 30 years in the same location here in Rocky Mount. Unfortunately, for those who have been around the past several months, you have seen how this recession and our normal slow season has affected business in a negative way since February. CNN reported yesterday the top things Americans have cutout of their lifestyles; 38% have cutout eating out and in second place was 36% of people cutting-out entertainment from their budgets.

Because of this, I would humbly like to ask for everyone's help in keeping this great institution open for many more years to come. I have tried newspaper, 5 radio stations and magazine advertisements to bring in new customers; unfortunately, these mediums do not have the effectiveness of good, old-fashioned word of mouth advertising. So, if you enjoy Dot's and ever have an opportunity to talk up your pool hall and help to bring in new customers, I would be eternally grateful. In fact, bring in a new customer this Friday and I'll give you a free hour of pool or free refreshment.

Bottom line is that as most of you know, I have put a lot of effort and money into Dot's over the past year and a half to try to make things better and make this an enjoyable establishment for our customers, and the last thing I wanted through all of this was to loose this business to the bank after all is said and done because I couldn't pay the bills.

So, if you can help me keep Dot's open and running, I would be so very grateful. Thank you all again very, very much for your continued support and patronage. I hope to be serving you for years to come.

Have your game or practice session recorded on DVD for you. Would you like to see those critical mistakes that you don't know when you shoot them? Or just want to tape yourself and how you move the cue to analyze yourself for improvement? We have video recording set-up in the privacy of the of our back room now available. Cost of recording and table rental is only $10.00 an hour, and we provide the DVD. See John for details.

Also, our back room is available for party rentals or mini-tournaments for coworkers or families, etc. The back room is available any day for rental, as well as food and drink specials.

Hey everyone, as most of you know, there's a new pool prodigy in the world!!! Congratulations to Amber (nee Haefka) and Sam Mailender, on the birth of their daughter; Jaydin Maria Mailender. Yes, John is a grandfather! Best wishes to them as they journey into parenthood. Thanks Amber & Sam for contacting me, please don't hesitate to let me know if you need anything. Dot's Cue Club has been selected as one of two featured Billiards Establishments in the October issue of "Inside Pool Magazine ". Please look for this article as you may be in one of the pictures in the magazine. At Dot's you will also find the areas only American Snooker table. This is the only such table in the area, so come in and try your skills at one of the most challenging games of billiards around.
